Kerry + Michael

Having a hard time deciding between, a Caribbean style or a Mediterranean style wedding?  What about having your destination wedding at a replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village in the heart of the Caribbean? I hope Mike and Kerry’s wedding images were helpful to give you some nice ideas.

Mike and Kerry met through mutual friends during their freshman year of college. At the time, they attended different universities. The next year Kerry ended up transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where Mike was studying. They remained friends for the next few years and it wasn’t until midway through their senior year that Mike finally made the move.

Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic has always been a very special place for Kerry and has become one for Mike as well. Kerry’s parents opened their jewelry shop in Casa de Campo in 1979 and remain in the same location today (just around the corner from the church they were married in!).  Kerry lived in Casa de Campo for the first years of her life and has visited almost every year since (the last few with Mike!).

Their wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful St. Stanislaus Church in Altos de Chavón high on the cliffs overlooking the beautiful Chavón River. All of the guests just barely fit in the small church, making it very intimate. Regarding the decor of the wedding,  Kerry and Michael really just wanted to highlight the natural beauty the country is abundant in, so only plants and flowers native to the country were used focusing on lush greens, white, and deep pink. Many of our guests had never been to the DR before so we made sure it was a truly Dominican experience. The decor, the food, and the live band were all Dominican.

I hope you’ve enjoyed Kerry & Michael’s beautiful destination wedding at Altos de Chavon, Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic, and the beautiful Dominican wedding experience they provided to their guests.
