Chris & Virginias’s  charming classic wedding in Santo Domingo colonial zone, it was one of those weddings that seems to be simple and unpretentious but are so full of charm and significance.  Definitely my favorite type of weddings.

Virginia and Chris met while in school at Harvard and they’re both now working in the finance world in NYC.  Choosing a Santo Domingo Wedding was an easy decision as Virginia is originally from the Dominican Republic and Santo Domingo’s Colonial zone it’s a location where the couple had vacationed frequently.

From hand-rolled cigars at the Welcome Dinner to Virginia’s embroidered floral wedding dress, this wedding exuded an air of what we consider tropical meets old-world romance. All elements and event locations held meaning to the couple, as Virginia is originally from the DR. Guests took train shuttles from the ceremony and cocktail hour to the reception, enjoying a mini sight-seeing tour of historic locations around the city that date back to the 1500s. A local merengue orchestra then welcomed guests, before transitioning to a Florida based band for all the international hits that kept guests dancing the night away under a custom clear marquis allowing for a naturally stunning ambiance all night long.
