Kerry + Michael
I hope Kerry + Michael’s Intimate Wedding at St.Stanislaus Church is able to help you make a decision if you are having a hard time deciding between, a Caribbean style or a Mediterranean style wedding. What about having your destination wedding at a replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village in the heart of the Caribbean?
Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic has always been a very special place for Kerry and has become one for Mike as well. Kerry’s parents opened their jewellery shop in Casa de Campo in 1979 and remain in the same location today (just around the corner from the church they were married in!). Kerry lived in Casa de Campo for the first years of her life and has visited almost every year since (the last few with Mike!).
Their Casa De Campo wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful St. Stanislaus Church. Looking straight out of a medieval postcard, St. Stanislaus Church—sits in the heart of Altos de Chavón, high on the cliffs overlooking the beautiful Chavón River. The romantic stone structure —was consecrated in 1979, hosts numerous weddings every year, and is one of the most beautiful churches in the DR, not least for its setting overlooking the Rio Chavón. But it’s also special because Pope John Paul II—who visited the DR in 1979—left behind the ashes of St. Stanislaus, Poland’s patron saint, in order to commemorate the inauguration.
All of the guests just barely fit in the small church, making it very intimate. Regarding the decor of the wedding, Kerry and Michael really just wanted to highlight the natural beauty the country is abundant in, so only plants and flowers native to the country were used focusing on lush greens, white, and deep pink. Many of our guests had never been to the DR before so we made sure it was a truly Dominican experience. The decor, the food, and the live band were all Dominican.
I hope you’ve enjoyed Kerry & Michael’s beautiful destination wedding at St Stanislaus Church in Altos de Chavon, and the beautiful Dominican wedding experience they provided to their guests.
