Wowww Did you feel it?… There is just so much joy distilling from this gorgeous New York garden wedding! I now really think that all couples should consider having a post-ceremony parade through the forest accompanied by a brass band! I mean, how incredibly fun does this look? Documenting George and Christina’s entire day was a joy, and my team and I are delighted with how beautifully our images and videos came out. The whimsical and magical setting that CARAMOOR GARDENS offered made it a natural choice for Christina & George and its stunning sunken garden was the perfect backdrop to the lush florals and gold accents that the couple had in mind.

Cristina and George, thank you again for choosing us as your New York wedding photographers and enable us to document such special memories for you and your families.  And well if you (the reader) have enjoyed the work we did at this beautiful Caramoor garden Wedding and/or you are researching for the ideal New York Photographer to document your wedding, do not hesitate to reach out.   We can’t wait to hear from you!

Wedding Planning insights from the bride:

And well, In case you are curious to know more details about this whimsical wedding. We’ve got some insights for you straight from the bride:

How did you guys meet?
We met in New York at a space called the Happiest Hour. It was the happiest day!

Tell us about the wedding proposal!
At the time, he lived in Seattle, and I lived in New York but was moving soon to Seattle. My sister convinced me that she was throwing me a going-away party and when I ran home to meet her, opened my apt front door, George was standing in my living room surrounded by hundreds of beautiful white flowers, string lights, and candles. I had no idea he was going to propose, let alone that he was in New York!  I was shocked, in tears, and of course, said yes!

Tell us more about your gorgeous wedding dress?
I am from the Dominican Republic, and since we decided to get married in New York, I loved the idea of having a Dominican fashion designer custom make my dresses. I wanted my dress to be soft, flowy, and delicate. The designer Elisa Morato is terrific and made my dress dreams come true.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding style?
After I got engaged and started the inspiration board and the planning, and it was very quickly that I realized that I wanted a garden wedding. The whimsical and magical setting that Caramoor offered was the perfect backdrop to the lush florals and gold accents that we had in mind.

Why did you choose this location?
We chose our venue in February, and the moment we walked in, it was clear to us that Caramoor was the place. I had tears in my eyes when I saw the “Sunken Garden”, where our ceremony was.

Did you have any DIY elements?
I  work in events myself, so I designed the majority of the wedding. The color palette selection, types of flowers and vases used in the flower arrangements, hanging flower centerpieces above the dance floor, every printed piece for the reception, the guest’s table, each moment from the parade to the way we walked the aisle, the Greek moment towards the end of the night…

I designed and planned every detail. George was very involved and designed every musical aspect of the wedding with me. We also did our wax seals for the invitations and made the headpieces for our Greek party moment! It was a lot of fun.

Tell us more about your wedding flowers?
We wanted everything to match the whimsical garden aesthetic. The flowers mimicked that feeling as well. They were a mix of all white flowers, from peonies to camellias and delphiniums combined with “wild” green accents like seeded eucalyptus and dusty millers and maidenhair ferns.

Your favorite detail of the day?
The parade through the forest with a brass band playing our song “You’ve Got the Love” by Florence, and the Machine was one of our highlights :) We offered our guests props to use as they walked with us that included, tambourines, parasols and custom flags with the bride and groom’s initials on them.

Most memorable moment?
Walking down the aisle was a big one for both of us. Seeing everyone in the garden looking at, as we walked to the altar alongside our family and best friends. It was priceless.

Any other details that help tell the story of your day?
The wedding day took place in three different gardens at Caramoor–one for the ceremony, another for the cocktail hour, and another for the reception. We loved that it was all in one place so we could maximize the time spend with our friends and family that had come from all over the world to witness our special day.

Tell us a little about your honeymoon:
We had a mini-moon in Tulum, and it was beautiful and relaxing!
We are going to our actual honeymoon in June–Bali, and Thailand. We are very excited.

Is there anything you would change or do differently?
I wouldn’t change a thing. I wish that we could’ve made time stand still that day– everything goes by so quickly.

What advice would you give out to couples planning their wedding?

George and I are both creative directors, so the planning and creative directing of the wedding brought us closer than ever. We loved being a part of the process, and it made us appreciate everything the day-of even more. Enjoy those moments because they are special ones that will make everything on the day-of worth it! Oh, and the day goes by so fast so take time to pause, look around the room and appreciate how everyone there is celebrating your love for one another :)
